OFFICIAL EVENT RULES
Race rules.
1. One official loop per hour. Each runner must complete the marked course within the allotted hour.
2. Starts are synchronized. A new yard begins exactly on the hour after the official start signal.
3. Be inside the start corral. A runner who is not in the corral when the start signal is given is eliminated.
4. No late starts. Once the yard has started, no runner may join it late.
5. Complete the exact course. Short-cutting, course cutting or receiving forward assistance results in disqualification.
6. Assistance only between yards. Personal crew may help in the designated base area, not on the course, except where organizers explicitly permit safety assistance.
7. No artificial pacing. Non-competitors may not accompany or pace runners on the course.
8. Mandatory equipment applies. Night equipment, hydration, visibility gear and any weather-specific items announced by organizers must be carried when required.
9. The last runner must finish alone. When only one runner remains eligible, that runner must complete one additional yard within the hour to be declared the winner.
10. Everyone else is recorded DNF. Backyard format recognizes one winner; all other starters finish as DNF with their completed yards/distance recorded.
11. Safety overrides competition. Medical staff and the race director may withdraw a participant when continuing presents an unacceptable risk.
12. Respect the village and course. Littering, abusive conduct, deliberate property damage or disrespectful behavior may result in immediate removal.
Final technical details—including exact loop distance, elevation, mandatory gear, aid-station setup and any local adaptations—should be published in the pre-race briefing.
